Summer 2011

Well, this summer has been very interesting! I finally graduated from BYU in April. As soon as I graduated Ian and I went to California for two weeks. Ian shadowed a bunch of doctors and I relaxed and detoxed from school. It was a much needed vacation! After being in California for two weeks we came back to Provo for a few weeks to work. We then headed out to Boston for Ian's sister and brother-in-law's baby blessing. While we were in Boston we went and toured the medical schools (Tufts University and Boston University). After the baby blessing we headed back out to California for another two weeks. After that we came back to Provo for a few weeks and then headed out to Cabo for a week. It was amazing! Relaxing by the pool, reading, and sleeping. After Cabo we then headed out to Houston for two weeks. Although we were not home for a lot of the summer, the time that we spent at home was always interesting! We always managed to find things to do. I took 2 cake classes and worked. Ian has been working on medical school applications and secondaries. Ian was driving my car and a girl ran a red light and totaled my car. Which resulted in hours and hours of time on the phone with insurance agents. Then one day in the emergency room. And several meetings with military recruiters. Things have finally settled down. Ian is back in school and I work and take cake classes. Here are a few pictures of this summer!
Ian and I at a Salt Lake Bees game for the 4th of July.
At the 4th of July Parade.
The result of a girl running a red light. Thank heavens Ian came out of it without a scratch.
Ian wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle so my dad showed him. Lets just say it was interesting!

Makayla's famous smile! Ian and Makayla were having some bonding time.

Makayla loves to have her nails painted.

The project that Ian and I put together. We knew we needed a calendar for the next year because things are going to get a little complicated with only 1 car. We wanted to be able to plan ahead. We had fun putting on all the lettering, stickers around the boarders, lamented calendar on the boards, and feathers. Every time I look at it I love it!
One of my first cakes.

Cupcakes that I made for my Primary kids.
The cake I made for Memorial Day.

The cake I made for Father's Day.

The cupcakes that I made for Jimmy. Chocolate cupcakes with a Chocolate ganache filling and a peanut butter frosting.

The cupcakes I made for my old roommates.

The biggest project I have taken on yet. I used the every ounce of kitchen space. It was so much fun though. It was for my final class. It took 2 days and lots and lots of hours of work.

The final project! It was all homemade. devils food cake with a raspberry filling and a dark chocolate frosting.

This is a side view of the cake.
